Eco Africa Digital Wins Silver at 2025 ITTFA for Tourism Film “A Story Worth Joining”

Posted by Lizanne on July 2, 2025

Celebrating storytelling, strategy, and a decade of serving Africa’s tourism industry

We’re beyond thrilled to share that Eco Africa Digital has been awarded a Silver Trophy at the 2025 International Travel & Tourism Film Awards (ITTFA)—a prestigious global event that recognises excellence in tourism storytelling.

Our award-winning film, A Story Worth Joining, was celebrated in the Tourism Services category. This year’s ITTFA was the largest to date, with 448 entries from over 60 countries, and we’re honoured to stand among the world’s top storytellers in travel media.

A Decade of Stories, One Vision

Told through the voice of our founder and CEO, Lizanne du Plessis, A Story Worth Joining reflects over a decade of heart, hustle, and innovation in digital tourism marketing. What began as a boutique agency in South Africa has grown into a trusted digital partner for more than 75 tourism brands across the continent.

From remote safari camps in Tanzania and Kenya to boutique hotels and wine estates in the Cape Winelands, we’ve helped Africa’s most beautiful destinations reach global audiences through video production, digital strategy, and performance advertising.

“This film is our love letter to Africa,” says Lizanne. “To the wild spaces we’ve explored, the brands we’ve helped grow, and the people we’ve worked with who believe in Africa’s tourism future as much as we do.”

It Takes a Village

This win isn’t ours alone. It belongs to every client who trusted us with their story.

We proudly honour our long-term partners and past collaborators we have served, including: Garonga Safari Camp, The Wilder Group, Saruni Base Camp, One Thibault Residence, The Salene Boutique Hotel, Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate, Mont d’Or Group, African Safari Collective, Isibindi Africa Lodges —and many more who continue to shape the African travel experience.

“It takes a village to craft an authentic tourism story,” says Lizanne. “This Silver Award reflects the depth of collaboration, creativity, and trust we’ve shared with our clients over the years.”

Celebrating Our Industry Peers

We would also like to extend our congratulations to our fellow South African storytellers at Horison Media and Dagdroom Media who were our co-creators on the film and were also recognised at ITTFA 2025.

“We’re not just marketing places—we’re inviting the world to feel something, to dream, and to book their journey to Africa,” says Lizanne. “Together, we’re turning curiosity into connection.”
